Is Danny Davis the Emperor of Black People?

I'm getting sick of politics with the Chicago mayoral race, it's already degenerated to the point of playing the race card. It reminds me too much of Jesse Jackson on South Park. A black candidate warns Bill Clinton not to campaign for his friend or the black people will get him! Really Davis? You're suddenly the emperor of black people? You can command them en masse to punish Bill Clinton? Not the blacks I know! In fact, most of the blacks I know think you're a crook! Even the die-hard democrats! Not that I want Rahm Emanuel as mayor any more than I want Davis, because they'd both do a terrible job! The only decent candidate (Meeks) has dropped out!

I really believe Meeks wants what's best for the poor communities of Chicago. I think he could've made great strides in ensuring that the kids who are most in need of a good education are able to get one. I think he could've worked with businesses and convinced them to open their shops even in the bad areas. As a reverend he's already made huge progress in both of these areas. As mayor I think he could have done even more, and without robbing the taxpayers of Chicago to do so.

Now, the vulture known as Rahm Emanuel is trying to profit from Meeks' early exit. Go ahead everyone, google Meeks for mayor, you'll see that Rahm paid good money to make sure his name pops up on the side. I think I'll click it a few hundred times to make his campaign pay for it!

All we're going to get with Davis or Rahm is the same old crap Daley fed us. They'll blame crime on the dumbest possible causes. Remember Daley's excuses? Someone is shot and Daley says something along the lines of "well, the weather was nice." Nice weather causes murder. Or the other Daley favorite "it's the guns, we need more laws." Of course! How silly of me! It's not the politics polluting the police force, it's not the unchecked gang activity, it's not that police are having powows with gang bangers, it's not that there are laws in place to make people defenseless victims. It's a combination of guns that don't exist in his City because there are laws against them, and the nice weather. I wonder how many places with no gun laws have nice weather and no murders. Maybe someone should do a study and let Daley, Davis, and Emanuel know the results.

I'm sure the people in Vermont don't cower in fear of a nice day.

Bunn Phase Brew Review, It Kicks Ass!

Before going off on my rant about Danny Davis, I thought I'd review a product we purchased today. This is my Bunn Phase Brew review:

I have to say, I thought I'd had a good cup of coffee before. I had that free Gevalia coffee maker and thought it brewed a great cup of coffee, even though the coffee itself from Gevalia tastes like crap. The Bunn Phase Brew really shocked me. The temperature of the coffee was too hot for one of my guests, and they asked for an ice cube to cool it down. For me it was perfect. Too hot to drink right away, let it sit a few minutes. The way coffee should be. Not only was there a difference between the Bunn Phase Brew and the free Gevalia brewer that words can't describe, it actually brews better coffee than any coffee shop I've been to. Coffee Bean Connection in Baraboo, WI, makes my favorite coffee, Jamaican Me Crazy, and I still have some grounds from August when I was passing through (I buy enough to last a long time). It's the only flavored coffee I drink, because while flavor is added, it's not sweet. I drink my coffee black, I don't like sugar or milk in it. I like to taste coffee when drinking coffee, and that's mostly how this tastes, but with a slight hint of flavor. I always get a large cup of it from the shop, and a few pounds of grounds to make pots at home with the Gevalia that don't come close to the shop. Well, these 4 month old grounds actually turned out better than the shop!

The Bunn Phase Brew uses what they call a "revolutionary" method where all the water is heated to 200 degrees, and instead of being dripped down, it's sprayed in a steady stream so that all of the grounds are evenly saturated. It takes about 5 or 6 minutes for the water to heat, and then only 3-4 minutes to completely brew. The fact that the brewing time is shorter, and the water is distributed evenly means that the coffee is never bitter. Think of an espresso machine, it doesn't take long to to brew and is very strong. That is a similar principal to what this pot does. Short brewing time, yet strong coffee.

The construction of this pot also impressed me. It is very sturdy, fairly heavy, and uses a lot of stainless steel. In fact, the entire filter basket is stainless steel, which is great if you have taste buds like mine and can taste the plastic in your coffee when a plastic basket is used. It doesn't do a lot of fancy things, it has a digital readout, you can set the clock, program the timer, and tell it to start. Really, what else do you need?

When liberals can't win they... try to burn you?

I bet you didn't hear about this on the local news. That's because they're trying to portray the Tea Party as a bunch of vile, hateful, violent nuts. Of course, that description better fits the leftists trying to control every aspect of our lives. The Chicago Tea Patriots Christmas party was attacked by leftists. If the Tea Party had tried to burn down a democratic meeting it would be all over the news. What happened in Chicago, of course, doesn't play into agenda of the left-wing media machine, so it wasn't reported. Here are the details directly from Catherina Wojtowicz, the lady in charge of the Chicago Tea Patriots:

Last Friday we held our downtown Christmas Party at Dugan's Irish Pub.

We had a great crowd and the bar was filled with Christmas cheer until smoke began to fill the entire venue.

At approximately 8 p.m. the Chicago Fire Department were called to the bar to put out what was a very smoked filled bar.

After waiting outside for nearly an hour, we were told that the bar was closed for the night and we were asked to gather our belongings.

There were four small dynamite looking devices found in the men's bathroom, smoldering in the trash can.

The following evening I received a phone call from Chicago Police Department Bomb and Arson officials.

Written on the lid of one of the toliets was: F*CK THE TEA PARTY. Obviously with something other than an asterisk.

Bomb and arson officials have deemed this incident an arson.

Luckily, nobody was hurt, however, the good people of Dugan's lost an awful lot of money.

Police are investigating and we are not going away.

Look for us to have a ONE-MORE-TIME! MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW PARTY in Chicago's Loop after the New Year!

To the dozens who came out to Dugan's, I am so sorry for all this trouble. There are some very hateful people in this world and they will do whatever necessary to stop those who are fighting for freedom!

And we hope those who came out and those who were unable to make Friday's event, join us after the New Year!!

Thank you for your faith and support! You are the heart and soul of the tea party movement; without you, socializm would rule!

God bless you and your families during this Christmas Season!

Daley Unveils New Affront to the Constitution

No Guns For Negroes. That's what Daley really means by his new handgun laws. Dictator Richy Rich is at it again. The Supreme Court has told him that the constitution applies to EVERYONE, even the liberal enclave of Chicago, IL. Realizing his reign of unchallenged tyranny is reaching it's end, he decides to spit in the face of the Supreme Court and our Forefathers by passing more onerous handgun regulations that reek of racism.

Yes, I said RACISM. The very roots of gun control, despite what Michael Moore would have you believe, are RACIST. This law is reminiscent the "Poll Tax" that was used to keep black from voting. The poll tax was enacted in the South after the 15th amendment was passed and extended voting rights to all races. It allowed adult males whose father or grandfather had voted prior to the abolition of slavery to vote without paying. This discouraged blacks, native Americans, and poor whites immigrants who may not share their pro-slaver views from voting. Due to the fact that some black neighborhoods in Chicago are low-income, high-crime areas, Daley has implemented a fee to keep them from owning guns. Who needs a gun for home defense more than someone living in a low-income, high-crime area? Gun control was invented to keep minorities from owning guns. It was white fear, plain and simple, that started gun control, and I'm not so sure that isn't what keeps the gun control movement going. It's that same fear that keeps Daley surrounded by armed guards while his subjects have nothing.

Don't believe what some white guy has to say about it? Watch "No Guns For Negroes"
"No Guns for Negroes"
- Watch more Videos at Vodpod.

Daley is attempting the same thing. He is charging high registration fees in addition to ridiculous restrictions. The new law states that only one functioning handgun can be in a house, and it cannot be taken out of the house, not even in your own yard or garage. I can see new lawsuits already, and not just lawsuits challenging the legality of these laws, but lawsuits from people getting sick while cleaning their guns. Guns should be cleaned in a well-ventilated area, preferably outdoors if you have a sensitivity to the chemicals like I do. Not to mention when someone is mugged in their driveway while mowing the grass or raking leaves, it will again be Daley's incompetence and contempt for the Constitution that will be at fault.

The Constitution, including the Second Amendment, applies to Chicago. To paraphrase a Valinda Rowe speech I heard a while ago: We've defined people, we've defined keep and bear arms, now we need to define SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED!

God Bless America, and God Have Mercy on the people of Chicago.

Chicago handgun ban going down in flames!

I would like to give personal thanks to Otis McDonald, Adam Orlov, and Colleen and David Lawson. Also, thank you to the Illinois State Rifle Association and Illinois Carry who have done great work at the state level to secure our freedoms.

So, Chicago, the city more dangerous than the Iraq war, the city where the national guard was going to be deployed to deal with crime is now going to have more guns. Yes, there will be bloodshed because of this decision. Fortunately, the blood being shed will come from the scum of the Earth criminals that currently infest that cesspool of corruption! Finally, decent people will be able to defend their families with the most advantageous weapon available: The handgun.

I prefer a handgun for home defense over anything else. The rounds will not penetrate as far as a rifle round. If you are rounding a corner with a shotgun, the criminal will see the barrel before you see him, and can grab it and point it away, leaving you vulnerable. Buy what you are comfortable with. Get your FOID card while it is still required, and go to a gun shop preferably with someone who knows something about them, and just pick up and hold as many handguns as you can. You need to find something you are comfortable with. For home defense I like the Springfield XDm in .40S&W. Pay attention to the new laws Chicago passes though. Daley may very well make the XDm illegal because it holds more than 10 rounds. In my opinion though, you can never have enough rounds in a handgun. You never know how many people are outside waiting for the guy kicking down your door to get in. My wife and I both shoot with it and feel it is the best balance of firepower with the least amount of kick. Take a basic class with an NRA-Certified instructor. If you are an NRA-Certified instructor, please leave a comment with your e-mail address so readers can contact you about learning how to shoot.

I found this book very helpful after learning the basics:

Just make sure you are comfortable and accurate with your handgun before trying anything other than going to a shooting range and putting holes in paper!

A Rant About Daley

Who's having a Second Amendment party on Monday? Since I have to work all week, it'll probably just be cake & ice cream, but I'm having a little family party in celebration of the McDonald decision that will bring freedom, albeit a little bit, back to the residents of Chicago. Since I don't see how they can rule against McDonald after the Heller decision, the question is how far will the scope of the ruling go. I could go into the technical details, but if you were interested in those, you probably have already researched them.

Of course, this will not be the end of SCOTUS gun cases, probably just the opposite. If you think Daley will stop, think, and say "oh, jeez, I was in violation of the constitution this whole time, I must look quite the fool" then you aren't from Illinois. He will file lawsuit after lawsuit claiming he can ban handguns that take a magazine, don't have a safety, are above a certain caliber, if they just plain look scary to the typical liberal (that would mean all handguns), and handguns that take bullets. This is because Daley doesn't look to the constitution for advice on rights, responsibilities, the rule of law, or freedom. He looks to the constitution with contempt. He thinks of it as an outdated doctrine that keeps him from imposing his totalitarian rule.

He also views the free market as a plague. I mean, he wants Walmart to have to pay a minimum salary to it's employees that is significantly higher than the state minimum. Everyone likes money, but Walmart is about the only business willing to invest in the ghettos of Chicago. They should be begging Walmart to move in! There's a Walmart in Evergreen Park, and one in Crestwood. More than 50% of the cars have Chicago City stickers in the windows. All Chicago is doing by keeping Walmart out is sending it's citizens to the suburbs to do their shopping, and losing valuable 10.25% tax revenue.

I could keep going, but this post is already a bit too long.

The Two Main Causes of Crime in Chicago

Warm weather and guns, a deadly combination?

Every year we hear about the two things that cause the most crime in Chicago. You might think gangs would the main source of crime in a city riddled with them. You might think it was the drug problems, the understaffed police departments, or the poor management by city officials. Well, according to King Daley and the Court Jester Jody Weis, there are two main problems.

Warm weather, and guns.

Yes, that's right folks, the combination of warm weather and guns is what's causing all of these murders, not the drugged up gang bangers on every corner. Not the Daley administration's fear of actually tackling crime. Remember, Daley can blame guns because guns don't kill people. Daley can't blame gang bangers because THEY DO KILL PEOPLE.

So, how do we solve the crime problem in a manner that Daley would approve of? Let's pass another do-nothing law! Why don't we ban nice weather? It should be just as effective as the handgun ban, thereby ending all crime in Chicago!

PROBLEM SOLVED

Second Amendment Freedom Rally -- In Chicago!

Save the date folks! July 9th, 2010 from 11am - 1pm is the third annual SECOND AMENDMENT FREEDOM RALLY.

Why are guns the answer? Put yourself in the shoes of a criminal. Indiana allows people to carry concealed, loaded handguns. You don't know who is and isn't carrying one. Chicago has completely outlawed handguns, and makes it very difficult to register, purchase, and possess any gun that IS legal in that City. Where would you choose to mug, burglarize, carjack, etc? Even if live in Chicago and don't plan on owning a gun you should be pulling for the handgun ban to be overturned. The criminals won't know which house does and doesn't have an armed person waiting behind the door. If 50% of households owned firearms they'd have a 50% chance of their crime ending badly, and would probably choose a more defenseless community. Do you ever wonder why so many gang bangers you see in Chicago have Indiana plates on their car? EASY TARGETS

It will be held at the Thompson Center. This is always a great event with informative, exciting speakers. Last year we had Tony Peraica speaking, the Militant Marksman podcast host did a great job as usual, and Cisco Cotto of the Cisco Cotto Show on WLS did a great job hosting it last year. This is more than a preaching to the choir event, we educated a lot of Chicago residents about firearms and how they are not what's causing the violence in the City last year. We even attempted to educate the racist and threatening Mr. Phleger when he showed up to protest, but apparently he's very closed-minded as most racists are. Maybe if he keeps showing up he'll learn something one time!

The best part? Well, I can't decide! For one, it will take place within full view of King Daley's office, which I'm sure will ruin his day, thereby making mine. For two, it will be after the Supreme Court releases the McDonald v Chicago decision, so there's a good chance this will be a victory celebration too! Imagine Daley already red, sweaty, and spitting when he talks, from the McDonald decision watching us rally for our God-given, Constitutionally-protected rights! Even if you're just passing by make sure to stop and pick up some information or listen to a speaker.

I don't know who will be speaking yet, but I'm sure they will be great as usual. Here's the info:

BP Oil Gusher

I am truly bewildered by the government's decision to sit back and watch the oil continue to flow into the Gulf of Mexico. I realize this is BP's fault. I do not debate that. The problem is that it is not solely BP that will suffer. Our ecosystem will suffer. The United States economy will suffer. The following industries will also be affected: Fishing, tourism, boating, and restaurants. You should also plan to pay more for lower quality fish if you plan on purchasing fish generally harvested from the gulf. You will most likely buy fish from a country that generally fails inspections made on their seafood.

If this were a problem that only impacted BP I could understand the government letting this happen, but the implications are much more far-reaching. I am generally against government intervention into anything, but this is not the time for the president to sit on his ass and chastise BP. This is the time for them to step in and plug this gusher. They can even bill BP for the cost. I just find it interesting that there isn't a shut-off valve anywhere before the rupture.

It seems to me that this administration only steps in when it is beneficial to them. They took over GM and they were able to close down the dealerships that contributed to their opposition, they were able to reward their supporters with decreased competition, and they appointed their friends to high-level positions within the company.

Maybe if BP had offered to allow Obama to appoint his fundraisers to high-level positions this problem would have been solved immediately.
